Fund4Trees is pleased to announce its first charity bike ride of 2024. This will be a social event for riders of all abilities. It will be a 15–20-mile bike ride around Brighton with ‘pit stops’ for young tree maintenance (YTM) workshops for children in three schools. As with previous years, these will be engaging events and very much interactive ‘educational workshops’ with the school children.

Our ride will form part of the “Brighton and Hove Tree Festival”.

We aim to raise funds for our charity and ask participating riders to seek sponsorship and/or donate a minimum of £50.
More information about our work, our fundraising events and what we have achieved over the years, can be found on our website http://www.fund4trees.org.uk which includes advice on how to donate via our Just Giving page.

Firstly, the YTM workshop sessions will be a celebration and group discussion (with questions & answers) about why urban trees are so important. Secondly beyond planting, young trees need to be looked after in their first few years. This is about caring, stewardship and appreciating that trees are living things in need of our help (YTM) if they are going to make it in their tough urban environment. The ways in which we should be looking after trees will be demonstrated and discussed via an interactive workshop led by the Trustees along with any of the riders who wish to participate.

We hope you and your colleagues can join us for what is always an enjoyable and rewarding event. If you are interested in taking part, please contact Russell Ball by mobile 0788 44 26671 or by email russell@fund4trees.org.uk
