Ride for Research

Ride for Research logoRide for Research is an annual cycling event held in the UK to raise funding to support sustainable treescapes. It is organised by Fund4Trees.

Ride for Research events are undertaken by professional arboriculturists, foresters and others who feel passionately about securing a future for our trees.

Our inaugural Ride for Research event, held in 2011 (read more), was small-scale compared to the long-established Tour des Trees (see below). We have big ambitions though!

Riders are expected to each raise a specific amount in sponsorship to take part in the ride. During the ride events the riders undertake educational activities with school children and local people.

In addition to the riders individual sponsorship money, we have several event sponsors. Money raised is used to support  tree research. If you can, please consider donating.

Ride for Research was inspired by the STIHL Tour des Trees event organised by the US-based TREE Fund each year. There the event is a major one including 100 riders who cover some 500 miles over the course of a week, typically raising $500,000 each year in support of the TREE Fund.
