Fund4Trees trustee Russell Ball is riding from Lands End to John O’Groats to raise the profile of the charity’s work and to raise money.

Russell, who arrived at Lands End yesterday to embark on the ride, said:
“It’s a solo ride and a significant mental & physical challenge. I’m very much up for it but am a bit nervy: who knows what awaits as I grind-out the miles? In training I have cycled around 1,500 miles, wore out a bike chain and have picked-up a knee strain: but I’ll crack-on. The in-leaf trees are coming too for the eleven en route schools and they’ve already generated some second glances as they poke conspicuously out the bike panniers. The focus that’ll keep me going is the school full of children at each stop along the way: hoping to speak to around 3,000 kids about how urban trees make our towns and cities better places to live.”
